R.E.S.P.E.C.T!
Show me what it means to me!

Last Friday, the whole school got into their year levels and did different activities based on our monthly focus of 'respect'.

In Grade 1/2, we all got together out in the front yard and talked about the different types of respect and how we can show respect both verbally and non-verbally.

We then worked together as one big group to create the word 'respect' out of our own bodies. We held up coloured paper to show the different letters. Miss Palankay then went up to one of the 3/4 classrooms and took a photo of us all from the second storey.

We had so much fun with this activity and have continued learning about and showing respect this week.

Remember that you can have respect for people, their thoughts and opinions and for property as well!

Readers Workshop

Reading Workshop 5/8/14

By Ryan, Abbey, Lucia and Campbell

Today in Readers workshop we read a picture book called down by the cool of the pool.
We filled all of the whole sort my thoughts sheet so we got to type up what we did in readers workshop.

The sort my thought sheet is where you have 10  boxes and you have to fill in every one. The boxes are questions/wonderings AHA! moments, empathy, reminds me of, text to text, and text to self, characters, visualising, BTL, MMM and predictions. Every other group did the exact same thing as us but with a different book.

In reading workshop we always start silent reading. After silent reading we do activities. They are open minded portrait sought my thoughts sheet character trait sheet. We are in Miss Palankay’s group. We are in readers workshop because we are all reading really well and now we are learning how to understand what we are reading.
